Domaine Gros Frere et Soeur winery
The Domaine Gros Fr re et Soeur, located in Vosne-Roman e, in the heart of the C te de Nuits. He was born in 1804 in Chaux a village in the Hautes C tes de Nuits, located 2 kilometers north of Nuits-Saint-Georges. In 1882 he bought 2 hectares of Richebourg. A few years later, Julie bought a parcel named Les Grands Echezeaux. The goal has been the regrouping of a 3-hectare parcel in Les Echezeaux, located at the place name Les Lo chausses. He increased the size of the vineyard by 12 ha by creating in Concoeur et Corboin, a Hameau located north of Vosne-Roman e, a parcel designed to produce high-quality wine with the appellation Bourgogne Hautes C tes de Nuits. The Domaine aims at elaborating wine that matches the standards of the terroir whilst using the best modern techniques. Nowadays, this estate twenty-hectare vineyard produces 8 appellations. Vine Pruning: whether the pruning method is Guyot or Cordon de Royat, only eight buds are left on each vine stock. Disbudding: the removal of other buds increases the quantity of sap provided to the main bud. Leaves rising: this process increases the insulated leaf areas and restricts the accumulation of leaves. This prevents diseases. Vine trimming: when the terminal bud is cut, a process of sugar storage is triggered. Dy doing this, sugars aren't used to grow leaves any longer, they grow the permanent parts, such as the grape bunches.
