Avignonesi is a leading wine producer located in the heart of Tuscany, Italy, specifically in the Montepulciano region. The estate spans over 400 hectares, with about 180 hectares under vine, making it one of the largest organic vineyards in Italy. Founded in the mid-1970s, Avignonesi has deep roots in Tuscan winemaking traditions, though the estate’s name dates back to a historic family from Montepulciano. In 2009, Belgian entrepreneur Virginie Saverys acquired Avignonesi, ushering in a new era focused on sustainability, quality, and innovation.

Under Saverys’ stewardship, Avignonesi underwent a complete transformation, converting all vineyards to certified organic and biodynamic agriculture. This commitment to environmental stewardship is reflected in every aspect of production, from soil management and biodiversity initiatives to the use of renewable energy. Avignonesi is best known for its Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, a celebrated red wine that showcases the elegance and complexity of Sangiovese. The estate produces several expressions of Vino Nobile, including the classic style, a single-vineyard Grandi Annate, and a Riserva, each reflecting meticulous vineyard management and minimal intervention in the cellar.
