About Delamain
The passion for the most exceptional cognacs that exist has been passed on in the family since 1759, the year in which James Delamain - from Ireland - moved to Jarnac as a trader. In 1824, his grandson Henri Delamain founded Maison Delamain. And then the day comes when the cognac s development is complete. Utmost vigilance is required so as not to miss the precise moment. But the Cellar Master knows his Eaux-de-vie inside out, and by this time he will already have a good idea of how best to orchestrate the blend. And therein lies another peculiarity of the House of Delamain: we leave the blending until last, convinced that only when the Eaux-de-vie reach their apogee can they be married in perfect harmony. For us, there simply is no other way. When the time is right, different cognacs from the same generation are brought together and blended. The House of Delamain is an X.O. cognac specialist, producing elegant, aged cognacs and nothing but fine, aged cognacs. The cognac finally exchanges the warm embrace of the oak cask for the crisp contours of a bottle designed especially for the occasion. These precious nectars are bottled to order, each bottle filled with cognac from the same barrel and sealed with the Delamain family crest. Tasting a Delamain cognac is about enjoying a rare moment of grace, a paragon of elegance and an explosion of rich aromas, a volley of fireworks to enlighten the senses.
