Castello di Ama is a prestigious wine estate located in the heart of Chianti Classico, near the village of Ama within the municipality of Gaiole in Chianti, Tuscany. The estate spans over 500 hectares, with 75 dedicated to vineyards and 40 to olive groves, nestled at an altitude of almost 500 meters. The property is steeped in history, with its origins dating back to the 12th century, and the village of Ama itself still retaining its medieval charm. The current owners, Lorenza Sebasti and Marco Pallanti, have been instrumental in revitalizing the estate since the 1970s, focusing on innovation, sustainability, and excellence in winemaking.

Castello di Ama’s vineyards are planted primarily with Sangiovese, the signature grape of Chianti Classico, alongside Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Chardonnay. The estate is divided into several renowned single vineyards, including Bellavista, San Lorenzo, La Casuccia, and Montebuoni, each with unique microclimates and soils that contribute to the complexity of the wines. The winemaking philosophy emphasizes respect for tradition combined with a forward-looking approach, employing meticulous vineyard management, hand harvesting, and careful selection of grapes.
