About Domaine du Vieux Telegraphe
Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe is a historic wine estate located in the heart of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation in France’s Southern Rhône Valley. Established in 1898 by Hippolyte Brunier, the domaine has remained under the stewardship of the Brunier family for over a century, now run by the fourth and fifth generations. The estate’s name pays homage to an old telegraph station that once stood on its highest hill, La Crau, a plateau famed for its galet roulés—large, rounded stones that help regulate vine temperature and contribute to the terroir’s uniqueness.
The domaine comprises approximately 65 hectares of vineyards, with the majority planted on La Crau. The soils here are a mix of sand, clay, and limestone, overlaid with the distinctive galet stones.
