About Tormaresca
Masseria Maime is located in one of the most beautiful areas of the high Salento. The company, which covers an area of ??about 500 hectares of which 350 are planted with vines and 85 with olive groves, develops along the Adriatic coast, thus creating a unique landscape of vineyards that are born between woods and pine forests and are lost in sight. eye until it merges with the sea. Outside the walls you can see a small noble chapel, called S. Pasquale a Maime and dating back to the seventeenth century. The heart of the estate is the Cantina Tormaresca , a structure with innovative features, which reinterprets the typical shapes of the Salento vegetation in a contemporary style, such as the sinuous curves of agave leaves and olive trees. Characteristic of the Salento landscape are the rocks of calcareous origins exposed to erosion which alternate with excellent beaches. A land that stands out for its artistic heritage, popular tradition and ancient history as evidenced by the dolmens, menhirs, specchie, pajare and dry stone walls. The rural landscape has remained intact. The stones seem to tell the transit and landing of peoples over time that have generated different cultures and have found the center of their being. The geographical position and the wide contact with the Mare Nostrum offer the Salento Peninsula a typically Mediterranean climate characterized by very mild winters and long, hot and dry summers.
