Benanti is a historic Sicilian wine producer located on the slopes of Mount Etna, with roots dating back to the late 19th century. The Benanti family has played a pioneering role in the revival and international recognition of Etna wines, blending tradition with innovation. The estate was revitalized in 1988 by Giuseppe Benanti, who was inspired by his family’s legacy and the unique terroir of Etna. Today, the winery is managed by Giuseppe’s sons, Antonio and Salvino Benanti, who uphold the family’s commitment to quality, authenticity, and respect for the land.

The Benanti vineyards are situated on various sides of Mount Etna, at altitudes ranging from 400 to 1,000 meters above sea level. These vineyards benefit from volcanic soils rich in minerals, significant diurnal temperature variation, and a unique microclimate that fosters the cultivation of indigenous grape varieties. The estate focuses on native Sicilian grapes, including Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Cappuccio, Carricante, and Catarratto, which are ideally suited to the volcanic terroir.
