About Chateau de Beaucastel
Pioneers of organic farming in 1950 and then biodynamic farming in 1974, Beaucastel s philosophy is that the grapes must have the flavour of its origins, thus natural farming is necessary in retaining this flavour. The grapes are hand-picked and sorted ensuring only the best are used to vinify which are then aged in oak barrels and are then bottled for another year. Using an unusual vinification method, where the grapes are instantly heated extracting its aroma and colour, whilst killing any harmful bacteria, this creates a unique fermenting process. With 130 hectares, Beaucastel only plant on 100 hectares of which three quarters is Chateau de Beaucastel, whilst the remaining is Coudoulet de Beaucastel.
