About Cordero di Montezemolo
The Monfalletto Cordero di Montezemolo estate stands out for many reasons: the history, the cellar, the wines, the view over the rolling hills of the Annunziata district of La Morra, and its reputable reputation. There are currently 19 generations that since 1340 have followed one another in the management of the Monfalletto property in the municipality of La Morra, in the centre of the Barolo wine production area. Even today, the property is entirely family-run. Giovanni Cordero di Montezemolo and his children Elena and Alberto are the protagonists of this millennium. The historic single body, rare for the area, of 28 hectares of vineyards extends over all the slopes of the hill and has always been cultivated with different local varieties, selected and planted differently depending on the exposure to the sun, the type of soil, and altitude. Other important investments have been made in the nearby Roero area, north of the Tanaro river, where, between purchases and rentals, the vineyard area reaches 8 hectares. Cordero di Montezemolo estates specialty is 'Barolo Chinato' which they produce in small quantities based on authentic Barolo.
