About Castello del Terriccio

The historical ruins of the Castello del Terriccio take us back a thousand years. In this period the fortified reality of the castle gave way to an increasingly consistent agricultural activity. Il Terriccio became a classic Tuscan farm, where wheat, grapes and olives were grown. In the immediate post-war period, the Terriccio became the property of the Serafini Ferri family who, with important land improvement interventions, profoundly transformed the physiognomy of the company. But the real change of direction took place in 1975 when Gian Annibale Rossi of Medelana Serafini Ferri inherited it. It is he, in fact, who has practically re-founded the company, devoting it to viticulture. It is he who deserves the credit above, all for having jealously defended a heritage of great value, handed down without any division, which has preserved tradition and beauty intact and has practically re-founded the company, devoting it to viticulture. With its grand and complicated history, this establishment has managed to achieve a strong foothold among winemakers and also represents proof that dedication, patients, and passion can accomplish extraordinary heights.
