Tenuta Ammiraglia winery

Frescobaldi started the winery business at the beginning of the 1400 s during the Italian Renaissance. Artists such as Donatello and Michelozzo Michelozzi became loyal clients. One century later, the Frescobaldi wines were served at the tables of the Papal Court and the Court of Henry VIII of England. In 1855, the estates of Nipozzano and Pomino were the first in Tuscany to plant Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, while in 1894 at Pomino they built the first Italian gravity-fed cellars. Tenuta Ammiraglia Estate is In the heart of the Maremma near Tyrrhenian coast. Frescobaldi believes in the great potential of these lands, embraced by the sun and softened by the sea breeze, whose wines are distinguished by their freshness, their minerality and the richness of their fruit. The modern lines of Ammiraglia cellar, designed by architects Piero Sartogo and Nathalie Grenono, recall the bow of a ship pointing towards the sea, searching for new horizons to be discovered. Perfectly integrated between the hills and covered with greenery and arboreal plants, the estate combines the most recent technological innovations with respect for the surrounding land and nature.
