Talenti winery

It was the 1950s when Pierluigi Talenti decided to move from the mountains of Romagna to the sweet and sunny hills of Montalcino. After a few years he decided to buy the farm and all the land that he had so fascinated and made him fall in love with. Over the years Pierluigi has dedicated himself to the clonal research of Sangiovese in the area, bringing his wines to the highest levels of quality. Today Riccardo Talenti, respecting tradition, continues his research and continues his work with the same passion and stubbornness as his grandfather. Of the 22 hectares of vineyards, 16 are dedicated to Sangiovese, partly selected in the Montalcino area directly over the years by Pierluigi, from which a product of great character and personality is obtained. The other 6 hectares of vineyards are planted with international varieties (Merlot, Cabernet and Petit Verdot). The company is framed by 4 hectares of olive groves, where varieties of Correggiolo and Moraiolo are grown, for a bright green product rich in intense aromas. The picking is done by hand during the months of October and November, and within the following 36 hours the harvest is transported to the mill. Therefore, a cold extraction follows which reduces the possibility of oxidation and thus maintains the freshness and aromatic characteristics that distinguish our oil.
