Podere San Luigi winery
The best expression of the Dolcetto, in one of the most charming corners of the Langhe, a long hill facing south, known throughout the world for the quality of the terroir. More than 15 hectares were bought in 1923 and at the start of the millennium, mainly for the cultivation of Dolcetto and, to a lesser degree of Barbera, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Grigio and Chardonnay. Podere San Luigi is located on the Terre di Sienna, on top of the hills between San Gimignano and Certaldo. You can enjoy a large view of vineyards and olive trees, of hills with cypress trees, of extended forest and isolated villas and Casolary. The classic hills of Chianti with Medieval villages from the Renaissance can all be visited on various day trips. On the surrounding hills, the Etruscans left ruins of civilization which they populated during the ages. Digging in this area we can find the foundations of their rural villages and their precious necropolises, while their spirits envelop vineyard and the silver olive trees.
