Parusso winery
The Parusso brothers are part of a family of winemakers who have been cultivating their passion for viticulture for four generations. In 1985 Marco, a young oenologist, supported by his sister Tiziana, decided to change the company by bottling the whole production. The company, located in Localit Bussia between Castiglione Falletto and Monforte d Alba, look after their vineyards with meticulous care in order to produce wines with a sought-after elegance that only this terroir can give. The Barolo, in the Parusso style, can be drunk even without having to wait for a long time and going to distant places; it blends longevity, freshness, and fragrance with easy digestibility. The Langhe Nebbiolo, Barbera d Alba, Dolcetto d Alba, and Sauvignon Blanc are also unique. All this and much more make Marco Parusso one of the main interpreters of Barolo with its own 'style of life, grape, and wine, always consistent with his modus operandi where he stands out as a great innovator in the varied world of the Langhe. Their 22 hectares of excellent vineyard sites embrace a variety of chalk, clay, sand, and marl soils in the famous areas of Bussia, Le Coste, and Mosconi in Monforte d'Alba, and Mariondino in Castiglione Falletto. Great diligence in the vineyards, including innovative soil studies and special pruning regimes for each plot, is allied to modern winemaking in the cellars. The wines are aged on their lees in small barrels because Marco feels that this gives them greater richness and complexity and they achieve lovely fruit perfume and balance.
