Maculan winery

The Maculan family for three generations selects and vinifies the best grapes from Breganze, a charming town at the foot of the Asiago plateau with a mild climate that favours the cultivation of vines and olives. The Breganze hills offer ideal terrain for grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay, Tai, and Vespaiolo and allow to obtain high-quality wines. The activity began in 1947 thanks to the commitment and will of Giovanni Maculan and over the years it passed into the hands of Fausto Maculan who, with stubbornness and immense passion, brought it to today's reality. Since 2007, daughters Angela and Maria Vittoria have enthusiastically supported their father in running the company. The company cultivates around 40 hectares with vineyards and olive trees and directly controls some thirty selected winemakers. The winery is located in the historic center of Breganze and is the scene of the wonderful marriage between ancient tradition and the most innovative winemaking technique. The winery is one of the most stunning small wineries in Italy, an amazing mixture of ingenuity and style. The new winery provides the theatre with a marvellous combination of antique traditions and modern techniques using the latest winemaking technology. Long-held family traditions are respected, from using highly selected vineyards and the careful selection of the bunches of grapes to aging in new, small oak barrels and conserving the grapes on racks for the production of Torcolato. The fusion of tradition and innovation results in a selection of fresh and fruity whites, well-structured reds, and delicious dessert wines.
