Francois Gay et Fils winery
The Gay Fran ois et Fils estate, located in Chorey-Les-Beaune, is a family estate with pristine vineyards. Pascal Gay took over from his father Fran ois in 2003, he is the 8th generation of winegrowers. Domaine Fran ois Gay covers and is eight hectares of vines around the village of Chorey-L s-Beaune. Just 3,400 cases are produced each year, mostly sold to French restaurants and local customers, which means there is only a small amount available for export. Following his recent retirement, the domaine is now run by Fran ois' son Pascal, although Fran ois still assists in the winemaking process. The vines are very old, some can reach up to 100 years. Everything is handpicked and carefully selected due to tradition. But the quality is exceptional due to the soil composition and the care put into production. The wines produced by Domaine Fran ois Gay et Fils are expressive of the terroir, powerful and fruit-forward, yet with detail and complexity, and which improve with age - they intend to produce 'pleasure wines'. Due to their limited quantity production, the wines of Gay Fran ois et Fils estate are very south after.
