Domaine Stephane Ogier winery

It is a winery known prevalently for its fantastic expressions of syrah and grenache, but also and not least for its interpretations of viognier, which give us harmonic and fragrant whites, representing a great territory of whites such as Condrieu. The Ogier family has been rooted for 7 generations on the slopes of Ampuis, and its primary interest has always been the meticulous care of the vineyards. The current winery was formed by Michel Ogier, a winemaker from the village of Ampuis, in C te R tie, where he collaborated among other things with the famous producers Guigal and Chapoutier. Michel started producing wine on his own as early as the early 1980s, but since 1987 he has been making wine and bottling all the grapes produced under his own label. His son St phane in 1998 began working at his father's winery, after having studied viticulture and enology in Burgundy and, within a few years, he took over the management of the domaine, in fact the following vintages report on the label Domaine Michel and St phane Ogier or M & S Ogier d'Ampuis. Starting in the late 1990s, more vineyards were planted or purchased, particularly in numerous villages in C te-R tie, but also a small plot of just over one hectare in Condrieu, land of great whites. The company strongly focuses on the quality of the grapes and on the abundance of the microclimates of the C te-R tie, also comparing them with that Cru and Grand Cru crossword that is Burgundy, a territory that has greatly influenced St phane, both from the point of view of technique and of philosophy. In fact, he practices the vinification of the individual vineyards separately and the labels often report accurate details on the specific origin of the cut of the grapes, although in C te-R tie there is no legal classification for the sub-regions. Today M & S Ogier cultivates 16 hectares, produces both white wines from viognier and red wines from syrah and grenache, and has also set up a small business of n gociant that supplies
