Ettore Germano is a family-owned wine estate based in Serralunga d’Alba, in the heart of Italy’s Barolo region. Founded in 1856, the estate has been passed down through several generations, with each contributing to its growth and reputation. The current proprietor, Sergio Germano, took over from his father Ettore in the 1980s, ushering in a new era of innovation and expansion while maintaining a deep respect for tradition.
The estate covers around 20 hectares, mainly in Serralunga d’Alba, with additional vineyards in Cigliè in the Alta Langa. The vineyards are situated on steep, limestone-rich slopes, providing ideal conditions for Nebbiolo, the grape behind Barolo. Ettore Germano’s holdings also include parcels in prestigious crus such as Cerretta, Prapò, and Lazzarito, each imparting unique terroir-driven characteristics to the wines.
While Barolo remains the flagship, Ettore Germano produces a diverse range of wines.
