About Fratelli Seghesio
The history of Fratelli Seghesio began in 1988 when Aldo and Riccardo released the first bottle of Barolo under the Seghesio label and managed to capture the hearts of many wine connoisseurs. Today, at the establishment, next to Riccardo there are the nephews Michela, Sandro, and Marco. Together they take care of all the facets of the business: in the vineyard from the pruning to picking, in the cellar from the winemaking to sales, in the office from the administration to promotion. A typical Langa estate is, family-run, small/medium-sized, strongly-attached to its roots. Located in the heart of the Langhe, in Monforte d Alba, on the eastern side of the village overlooking the hill of Serralunga. The estate extends over 10 hectares of vineyards producing around 60,000 bottles a year of the great local reds: a fresh Dolcetto d Alba, a characteristic Barbera d Alba whose qualities are brought out to the full in the La Chiesa cru, a refined Langhe Nebbiolo and two versions of Castelletto s Barolo: the classic with all its elegance and the most powerful and austere La Villa . The family is against using any type of chemical, and now they are focusing on using traditional farming as the main source of cultivation.
