About Egly Ouriet
A fourth-generation family run business is currently managed by Francis Egly overseeing 4.4 hectares of Grand Cru vineyards. The champagne produced by Egly is distinctive from other champagnes is its fermenting process, allowing the juice to be aged in oak barrels for 3-4 years, which is considered much longer than any other wines of this type. The vineyards are situated in Ambonnay, northeastern France, and its wines have been ranked in the top 5 Champagne producers in wine publication The New France. Producing 100,000 bottles a year, there is a uniqueness to Elgly s champagne which is rooted in the philosophy that before making champagne, one must be able to execute good wine.
