About Chateau de Pez
The Domain of Pez was originally established in the 15th Century, but the vineyards were added later by the Pontac family who took over the control of the estate in 1585. It is one of Bordeaux's oldest estates and was passed down through generations of the Pontac family until the French Revolution when it became the property of the French state. Throughout the 20th century, it was owned by a succession of people and came under the ownership of Louis Roederer in 1995. the property counts 30 hectares in production, splendidly situated on all the Saint-Est phe appellation. The soil consists of 70 % of grave Girondists who touch a large part of the great names of this appellation, and Argilo-calcareous grounds. Ch teau Tour de Pez is the prototype of the solid and elegant wine, in compliance with the idea that we are made current Saint-Est phe. Ch teau Tour de Pez consists of four traditional vines of the M doc. The property is crashed in 55 % of Merlot, 35 % of Cabernet Sauvignon, 7 % of Cabernet Franc, and 3 % of Petit Verdot. The average age of the vineyard is of 35 years. The presence marked with Merlot brings completely atypical notes in M doc, so offering to the great wine of the Ch teau Tour de Pez, strong and remarkable identity.
