About Col d`Orcia

The property is owned by Count Marone Cinzano, who is proud to boast of the organic certification, a non-trivial step for a reality of this size. This is a point that we like to emphasize strongly, because it is from the example of these historic and established fashion houses that even less noble companies can have the courage to follow the same virtuous path. The ascent from the business centre towards Sant'Angelo in Colle is punctuated by a series of vineyard plots among the most suitable of the denomination. Naturally, the Poggio al Vento vineyard stands out, watched over by a centuries-old oak which alone is worth the visit. The transition to organic did not involve trauma, requiring 'only' greater punctuality of intervention. We would like to emphasize this fact, as it is an excellent example of how storied and well-respected wineries can pluck up the courage to follow the virtuous path towards organic agriculture. Due to all the factors: location, weather and its transformation to organic farming has given d'Orcia, a well-deserved adequate reputation among winemaker.
