  • The lands, where Argiano stands, was taken over by the Republic of Siena in the late 14th century. Over the centuries, the ownership of the Argiano shifted into the hands of many imperial families. In the 19th century, Ersilia Caetani Lovatelli took over the winery and began the wine production and vine cultivation. In the year 1932, the estate got two valuable certifications a winemaking attribution and a gold medal at the Brussels Food Fair. These certifications were for the production of prestigious dessert and table wines. Later, the ownership of the estate passed on to Countess Noemi Marone Cinzano. She started working with an expert oenologist, Giacomo Tachis and produced many delicious wines.Today, a group of Brazilian businessmen owns the winery that extends on 125 hectares. At Argiano, a young team is promoting a philosophy of good winegrowing practices that aim to enhance biodiversity and produce terroir driven wines.
