About La Braccesca
The complete harmony of the traditional Nobile di Montepulciano and the innovative Syrah in Cortona. The estate s name comes from the historical farm that once stood there, owned by the Count of Bracci, whose coat of arms appears on the estate s logo; an arm covered with armour brandishing a sword. Marchesi Antinori has owned the estate since 1990. La Braccesca estate s property extends over an area of 508 hectares of which 340 hectares are planted with vines. The potential of Prugnolo Gentile combined with Merlot meets the recognizable elegance of Syrah in a project of great charm. There could not be a better solution of continuity between the Montepulciano area and that of Cortona, in a convergence between past and future in the name of experimentation and dialogue. Representative wine with notes of red fruits and spices, followed by sweet hints of tobacco that melt on the palate with notes of cherry and black currant. The aging cellars, built completely underground, have two separate areas designed for barrel and barrique storage. Barrels of various dimensions rest in the subterranean cellars; barrels, barriques and tonneaux are carefully chosen from the best French, Hungarian and American oak to impart the best qualities and enhance the wine aged inside.
