About Ferdinando Principiano
The vital force of winemakers in the Langhe of Piedmont means having an inseparable and indissoluble relationship with the land, with the vines, and with the wine. And an inseparable bond is precisely the one established between Ferdinando Principiano and his winery in Monforte d'Alba which, consisting of over fifteen hectares of vineyards, is managed with the deepest passion and the most unconditional love. After following traditional viticulture for about a decade, it is in 2003 that Ferdinando Principiano himself decides to convert his viticulture to natural, banishing herbicides, chemicals, and fertilizers from the rows. In the vineyard, the plants are raised by dedicating them maniacal care and attention, with the utmost respect for the balance of environment, nature, and ecosystem. In this way, we come to harvest fine grapes, straightforward and concentrated in all their organoleptic nuances. Bunches in the cellar are processed and interpreted following a philosophy not far from that applied between the rows: no adjuvant is used for alcoholic fermentation, and the use of sulphur dioxide is limited to the bare minimum. In this way, powerful and clean wines are born, deep and long-lived, From Barolo Boscareto to Barolo Ravera di Monforte, from Barolo di Serralunga d'Alba to Nebbiolo Montagliato, passing through Barbera 'La Romualda' and Freisa 'Chilla', up to Dolcetto 'Sant'Anna', they are all wines, those labeled 'Principiano Ferdinando', which tell the most beautiful Piedmontese Langhe by the glass.
