Louis Jadot is one of Burgundy’s most respected wine producers, with a history dating back to 1859. Founded by Louis Henry Denis Jadot, the house began with the purchase of the Beaune Premier Cru Clos des Ursules vineyard, which remains a flagship holding. Over the decades, Louis Jadot expanded its vineyard holdings and established itself as a key player in both the négociant and domaine sectors, producing wines from both owned vineyards and grapes sourced from trusted growers. Today, the company owns more than 280 acres of vineyards, including prestigious sites in the Côte d’Or, such as Corton-Charlemagne, Chevalier-Montrachet, and Chambertin-Clos de Bèze, as well as significant holdings in the Mâconnais and Beaujolais.

The philosophy at Louis Jadot centers on expressing the unique terroirs of Burgundy. The house vinifies and bottles each vineyard separately, emphasizing the nuances of each site. Chardonnay and Pinot Noir are the primary grapes, with Gamay cultivated in Beaujolais. This partnership has allowed the company to invest in vineyard acquisitions and state-of-the-art winemaking facilities, most notably the Cuverie des Jacobins in Beaune. Jacques Lardière, the celebrated winemaker who joined in 1970, played a pivotal role in shaping the style and reputation of Louis Jadot’s wines, emphasizing the importance of terroir and vintage expression. His successor, Frédéric Barnier, continues this legacy, guiding the house with the same dedication to authenticity and excellence.

Louis Jadot produces a broad range of wines, from regional Bourgogne and Mâcon-Villages to village, Premier Cru, and Grand Cru bottlings. The house is particularly noted for its consistent quality across all appellations, making it a trusted name for both everyday wines and collectible grand crus.
