About Marco De Bartoli
On the island of Pantelleria Marco purchased a terroir of 705 hectares of vineyards in an area called Bukkuram, which in Arabic translates to father of the vineyard. Due to its particular vocation to the production of grapes Zibibbo. In 1984 Marco launches his extraordinary Passito in which he gave the name of Bukkuram: which ended up to be a success. Tenacity, skill, and love for their land make Marco De Bartoli one of the most prestigious producers of Sicily. De Bartoli s winery, located 12km from the town of Marsala, in the Western part of Sicily. Sicily is well known for its amazing land composition due to its millions of years of volcanic activity. The winery is inside an old Sicilian Baglio, a term which designates a historical feudal hamlet, once used as agricultural and viticulture production centre, around which a small community of workers and landowners live This is the second most popular Marsala wine and it is among the highest-priced Marsala wine. This producer makes many wines including those from grapes Catarratto - Grillo - Inzolia, Nero d'Avola, Rare Red Blend, Catarratto, Garganega, Rare White Blend, Muscat of Alexandria, Perricone, and Rare Rose Blend.
