About Robert Barbichon & Fils

Today in the fourth generation, the 9-hectare winery is meticulously managed by Thomas Barbichon and has been certified organic since 2010. In 2012, the extremely passionate winemaker opted for the Demeter label (biodynamic). In the two communities he works with his wife Maxime and a small team on 18 different plots. These are 70% south exposed and the vines are 35 years old on average. They now own vines in five communities around Gy -sur-Seine. Grape varieties grow mainly on clayey lime-chalk soils and are divided as follows; 74% Pinot Noir, 12% Chardonnay, 8% Pinot Meunier and 6% Pinot Blanc. Depending on the harvest, 37,000 bottles a year are filled exclusively under 'Champagne Robert Barbichon'.
